And can you guess the movie???
The city that never sleeps. The big apple. Before the week is over, I'll be there. Again. The last time I was there The World Trade Center was still standing. I was impressed by the city back then. And I think I'm going to let me impress again. The last time I went to NY to watch a concert. One that got cancelled. This time coincidence lets me watch a concert, but the reason I'm going is the knitting festival. I don't hope the knitting festival will get cancelled. The Rhinebeck festival has a tradition with sweaters. In fact, it's not only in Rhinebeck knitting festivals has a thing with knitted garments like sweaters. But it's, as far as I know, the only festival that puts a name to it, The Rhinebeck Sweater. I've never heard of the Oslo Knitting Festival-Sweater, but that festival is young still. It might come. The thing is that knitters love to show their knitted garments. If you have ever been to a knitting festival, you probably will have seen lots of knitted sweaters, jackets, shawls, hats, cowls, socks, skirts and dresses in all kinds of colors and all kinds of different yarn. And you're allowed to touch the garments at a knitting festival without risking to insult the one wearing it. It's sort of a compliment if someone wants to touch your knitted garment. A pat on your shoulder, good job! Rhinebeck has made a tradition out of it. Every year people knit a Rhinebeck-sweater. It's not a special pattern, it's just a sweater or jacket of your choice, one you would like to strut around in at the festival. It's a cool thing! A bit geeky, maybe! But hey, I'm geeky! After all I'm travelling from Oslo to Rhinebeck to join a knitting festival. As usual, I think time stands still so I have time to knit all the things I want to, but as normal time flies. And well, you can read the last post to check out what happened with the first sweater I thought was going to be my Rhinebeck sweater. Last year's Christmas calendar was fantastic, and one of the things I got was Swans Island All American Collection Sport Yarn and the pattern for Ingrid pullover. This time my gauge was on point. It might have something to do with me using the yarn called for in the pattern ... Anyway, the pattern is very well written and it goes so quick to knit a sweater on needle 4 mm. It is a difference between knitting a sweater on needle 3 mm and 4 mm, I hav to say. So, my Rhinebeck sweater is the Ingrid pullover. I don't know if I'm going to strut around Rhinebeck in it, since the weather forecast right now says way to warm. But you never know, the weather can easily change. And I have to admit, I didn't learn from my mistakes, I didn't swatch this time either.

Den genseren ble kjempefin! Og du er så heldig som skal til New York og Rhinebeck, god tur!
Å, den turen blir sikkert helt fantastisk! New York er bare fantastisk.
