(Tittel: In My Feelings - Drake)
Summer feeling - when the days are lazy and filled up with reading, knitting, go for a swim, kistebunn to music and podcasts and repeating it all. It’s warm, it’s sunny and the sea is lovely! The only worry is to run out of yarn or books. Not going to happen this time! I have started on Happy Jumper designes by Lisa Jenner. Pattern and yarn was in my lovely advent calendar last year. The yarn is Madelinetosh Prairie in lovely shades of greens and blues and the natural colored skein has green and blue spots. Today my knitting came with me to the lovely Garda Lake. The colors in the lake is almost the same as my sweater. We walked through Sirmione to get to the beach, a lovely small town I knew nothing about. The beach is not the normal sandy beach, but has a lot of flat Stones both at the beach and in the lake. And the water doesn’t look like fresh water at all. A lovely place!

Some towns are special. Either because you just love the city so much and knows all the secrets. Or just because you heard and seen so much about the town. Venezia is special. A town I’ve seen in the movies where building collapses into the canal, or Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie drive away in a vist. It was surreal walking around at St Mark’s Place, people watching at the Rialto bridge and the gondolas. What a beautiful town. So many incredible beautiful buildings and bridges. And so incredible hot! But even in the heat I knitted a bit on the few stops we had. I mean, once a crazy knitter, always a crazy knitter. And yes, heads turned and I got some weird looks, but who cares? My Tegna is almost done, or half of it at least.

Testify - to provide the truth! I can testify this is so far the warmest summer we’ve had for ages. I love it! I don’t really need a warm sweater made of wool, but I just couldn’t resist the temptation of test knitting this pattern. A Midnight Fall sweater inspired by the first snowfall. The first snowfall arena like a distant memory, almost like a dream. And wool in this heat might be a dream too, or rather a nightmare?! Anyway, I have been photographed with warmer sweater in warmer weather than on this photo. It was supposed to be my vacation knitting, but I startes last Sunday and finished Thursday the same week. A fast knit! The pattern calls for DK, but I don’t have DK yarn in sweater quantities, so I used fingering. I used yarn from Tulliball, but names and type have to be edited in here in about fourteen days. The photographer on this lovely summer day was Monstermønster AS usual.

Who has their own yarn color? A beautiful blue color in Tulliball yarn, a yarn I got in my Christmas calendar. Specially made for me. What a great friend! Now the yarn is knitted up and turned into Longline Cardigan by Joji Locatelli. I bet I'm going to use this cardigan a lot when winter is coming. But that is an eternity away. First it's summer and I intend to enjoy sun and summer for another eternity. I cross my fingers for an Indian summer as well this fall. That would be lovely. The photgrapher was Monstermønster as usual. It's soon a summer tradition too. We find some woolen garments and go out in the hot summer in Oslo and take photos. Can look a bit weird, but as the last post showed, we're not alone.

Varmen er tilbake igjen. Sola er her igjen.

The heat is back. The sun is back. My knitting mojo is back. It's vacation, and nothing could really be better. I have even taken some project photos of the jacket I've finished. Coming up in the next post. It's something about taking photos when the sun is shining and the temperature is 27C while you're wearing a jacket made out of wool. Not too many spectators and weird looks. It helps! Not that I care too much about what other thinkg either. A funny thing happened the other day, we walked passed a very known situation. I recognized a fellow knitter right away. We laughed a bit and automatically felt with each our side of the situation. Check out the photo, and I bet you recognize it. I felt like going over to say hi, but I didn't dare to. The other funny thing, was to discover the actual project photos at her Instagram profile later the same evening. Check out her profile: i_knit_wool. I'm still knitting the test knitting, even though I should knit a jacket or another sweater first. Well, the test knitting continues. I just miss a couple of cm of the body and both sleeves now. I actually think I can finish it before I go on the vacation I planned to knit it on.

Hmmm ... I said the yarn I dug out to knit a sweater was going to be my vacation knit? I didn't really mean it. I think finding new yarn trigger my knitting mojo. The temptation got the better of me. I stuck to the plan for at least one day ... almost. I have about four rounds left before dividing for sleeves and body. And yes, I am going to finish up some projects I have laying around here too. The question now is what to knit on vacation in about a week? I have no plans to run out of yarn on that vacation.
The socks I knitted from a sock blank are done. They were real fun to knit, and I'm definitely going to look for more sock blanks on the next knitting festival. I have some left over yarn, and I think I have enough to knit a pair of striped socks one time.
