I finished my son's sweater. Well, almost. I need to weave in threads and sew/iron on Lightning McQueen. My son has already seen it and wonder when it gets so cold he can wear it. I really hope it's going to be a long time before summer leaves. I want the summer weather to last a couple of weeks longer.

I am too good joining alongs at the moment, and I signed up for two more. One of them is Use your book-along, and you're supposed to use one of your knitting books and knit something from it. The best is to use from your stash, but you're allowed to buy yarn. I resently bought Lene Holme Samsøe's book for children's knit. So many lovely patterns there, and my daughter wanted me to knit almost everything in the book for her. I started on a top called Pilespids, the tip of an arrow, and I'm soon finished with it. I use yarn I had, even though I bought it earlier this summer.

The other along I joined is Olympic Knitting. You have to choose a new project and finish it within the time of the summer Olympics. I hesitated a bit before I joined, because I have a lot of WIP's at the moment. But I got too eager and looked at it as a really good opertunity to get me a Lady February Sweater. I am even using yarn from my stash, Debbie Bliss cotton angora.

Anohter weekly question from Secret Pal 12.

What is your favorite supper for a hot summer evening?
I think I like shrimps the best. Shrimps and a glass of dry white wine. Or maybe I like chicken salad. Well, one thing is for sure, I like light food during summer and BBQ.

Teacher swap on Ravelry

I joined a Teacher swap on Ravelry just before summer and today I picked up my gift at the post office. It was the greatest gift ever! I know I've said this before, but I mean it every time. Seriously! I got two skeins of Happy Feet yarn from Plymouth yarn, two skeins of Malabrigo yarn and a skein from Provence. I'm looking forward to search for the perfect patterns to the lovely yarn. And so much yarn! I also got some candy, some great stickers I can use at work and the kids got their cloth with Tinkerbell and Lightning McQueen. They loved it so much that it's dripping wet right now. They used it in the bathtub this evening. It's such a great package. Love it! A lot of thanks to trustcraztyideas!

Mangler bare ermer. Jeg strikker raglan og bruker Jaeger Matchmaker.
I have also knitted on a sweater for my son. I have only the arms left. I knit raglan and use Jaeger Matchmaker.

Who says it's too hot to knit during summer?

Well, I don't know, but I have knitted a lot during vacation. I have been away on vacation for a week and I have knitted some. I finished my Dayflower camisole on Tuesday, but didn't steam it before today. It fits perfect, and I just can't wait to use it.

Fikk litt rester etter skjørt to.

I have crocheted another skirt, this time in Mandarin Petit. A very fun pattern to crochet, so I am already half way on skirt three, also in Mandarin Petit. Got some leftover yarn from skirt two.

I also knit on an order in Kid silk, which is a really time consuming work. And I got some knitting books in the mail. I ordered them through Interweave knits, when they had a big books sale.

Another weekly question from Secret Pal 12.
What is(are) your favorite place(s) to knit?
and What supplies (besides yarn & needles) make the setting perfect for knitting?

I usually knit in my couch at home, but I think my favourite place must be in my parents-in-laws' boat at sea in beautiful summer weather. Just look at the picture I took of the sunset earlier this summer. Knitting in the boat with that view, that's great. And of course, a glass of Chablis, some nice company and the sound of the ocean makes it perfect.

Summer knitting

Long car trips are made for knitting and crocheting. Really it's not much you can do except knitting, listening to an audio book or the radio. I knitted the straps on my Dayflower camisole, but have to measure them and see if they are long enough. My camisole is still in the car, but I think I'm going to do it tomorrow. So even with frogging it was a small project for Tour de France-kal. I also started crocheting a skirt for my daughter in the car. I used Sisu glitter. I have to weave in threads and put elastic in the waist. Have to buy some elastic during the week. The pattern is from Dale.

I have also knitted two pair of Selbu-mittens as a gift to my husbands relatives in the USA, but I finished them just in time for my parents-in-law went to USA, so I didn't have time to take a phot. Too bad, since that was really worth some bragging. Two pairs of mittens in two and a half day, but I don't have the picture to show it off. I used wool from Rauma which I got from my secret pal Vibbedille.

Another question from Secret Pal 12.

What is your favorite type of project to take along on holiday/vacation?

I really don't know. I have packed everything from sweaters, socks, mittens and shawls. I pack projects I really want to knit or projects I have a deadline on and have to finish during my time away. I don't really have a story where I was stranded without knitting either. I guess I'm to addicted to forget something to knit and always pack a lot of projects or I plan a trip in a yarn store and buy me a new project during the holiday.

Tour de France-kal on detour

Gir meg ikke.I was on a good roll with my Tour de France-contribution, but then I was starting the accent cord. I realized the camisole was too big. Now I have frogged the top again. This is really getting annoying. I've cast on fewer stitches this time and hope it will fit. I don't give up that easy.

Here so far I have knitted after I started again.

I have had the time to knit a pair of tiny babysocks as well. This pair is for my nephew. I'll knit a pair of mittens and a scarf as well, I think. I have used Sisu, which I got as a secret pal gift from JSV.

Secret Pal 12 has another weekly question.

1) Where is your favorite place to go for vacation/holiday?

I guess I have to say Londons, since that's the town I have been the most. Love London. But not my favorite place for summer vacation. In the summer time I like to go a sunny and hot place close to a beach.

2) Where is one place you’d like to go?

I would love to go to Australia, and then I mean all over Australia.

V for vacation and for victory

It's been a week with really great summerweather, sunny and hot. Great to get some sun for us living north. I have done some knitting in the sun. I'm starting increasing on this dress from Drops. It's for a friend of mine, and I hope to finish it during the week.

Gratulerer, Thor!

At Hobbyboden it's started a Tour de France-kal which I have signed up for. I'm knitting Dayflower camisole while Tour de France is going on. Now I have finally started. I knit in Rowan cotton glace. Was inspired by Thor Hushovd's victory today. Congratulations, Thor!

Secret pal 12 has another weekly question.
1) What yarn (that you don’t have/haven’t used) would make your stash “complete”?
I really want to try some more of Knit picks' yarn, not the bulky kind, but dk, lace or sock yarn. And I'm dreaming of knitting a sweater in Thomas Tilly's silkyarn.

2) What yarn do you never want to be without?
I use a lot of alpaca yarn and Opal sock yarn, so I guess I wouldn't be without that.
