I'm in a mittens mood. And I'm not only knitting left mittens! I actually manage to knit right mittens as well, and not only after I knitted two left mittens. I'm down to four rows into left mitten number two before I realize I don't need two left mittens. That's like nothing! Mittens are a fast knit! Of unknown reasons I don't enjoy knitting thumbs. Maybe it has something to do with picking up stitches before knitting? I don't know. Now I have four pairs of mittens without thumbs. But they have one left and one right mitten, though. I realize I have to knit thumbs very soon. The last pair doesn't have two mittens yet, since I'm knitting the second mitten right now. It's a right mitten believe it or not. Mittens is a great knit right now, since I'm studying for my exams and I don't really have too much knitting time.
I didn't really have time to go to London for a long weekend either. But I booked the trip in January, and who gives exams a thought in January really? I have to admit I was freaking out a bit before I went. I had a written task deadline the Friday I was in London and another deadline the day after I came home. Well, everything is duable with a bit of planning and a bit of writing in panic before I left. London showed itself from the best side with lovely sun and warm weather. I went to a knitting café at Loop London, popped by I Knit London, walked the streets wearing only a skirt and short sleeves and sun glasses, watched Matthew Perry up close, shopped, ate delicious food, had lunch in the sun at Covent Garden, knitted at a bench in Hyde Park and stayed right next to the blue door at Portebello Market. A fabolous weekend. I have to admit it was hard to come back home to the studying.
(The title of this post is actually a song title by Frank Turner.)
