(Tittel: The First Cut Is The Deepest - Papa Dee)
It's not often I cut in my knitting with scissors, but I must have done it a few times since I don't feel the panic coming when I need to cut. It still feels a bit wrong, though. It's something about cutting in a piece of knitted garment you have used hours to knit. It feels so wrong. I know it won't frog, but it just doesn't feel right anyway. I have knitted a jacket, but since it's a test knit I can't show the hole jacket. The pattern is real nice and well written. I have used pure wool, so I can crochet at both edges of the button band before I cut. I know Pinneguri (The Needle Lady) insists you can cut it without the crocheted edging, but I don't dare to do that. I crocheted and cut. Now I just have to knit the button bands and weave in the threads. Normally that can take me a month or two, but now I hope it won't since I have a deadline. Hopefully I'll finish it in a couple of days. The jacket survived my cutting, and I believe it will felt a little bit during the first wash, and after that it will not frog anything where I cut it. I have to keep knitting jackets in pure wool, since my sewing machine broke up with me or is on a long term strike or something. It doesn't work anymore.
