Another challenge at Hobbyboden, tidy up in you hobbystash. Well, well, I don't have that much yarn compared to a lot of other, but definitely enough. At least if you ask my husband. I picked up my three boxes of yarn and put it all over the floor. It definitely looks like more when it's in a big pile on the floor.

I sorted the yarn and put all the skein back in the boxes. The great thing about cleaning up in my yarn stash, is to feel and cuddle it before I put it back. Not to talk about all the yarn I completely forgot I had. But I think I have a plan what to knit for most of my yarn. I just lack the time to do it.

Since I used the last period of the OL-kal to finish a couple of WIP's, that means I have only some very old UFO's back. I have photographed three of them, but I still have an embroidered table cloth, my ripple and two Christmas stockings. Time will show if I actually get the time to finish them. The three I took a picture of is a purple and brown Inga hat for Irenesol's cancer project. The light blue is a Beaded camisole. I actually think I'm going to rip the whole thing and start over. I don't think the size is right. And at last there is the Firestarter sock in Knit Picks sockyarn. I will definitely knit another sock.

Between all of this I started a new project as I do a bit too often. I looked around for the perfect pattern for the Malabrigo yarn I got from truscrazyideas in the teacher swap on Ravelry. I landed on this great pattern from Meghan, Shalom cardigan. The only thing I'm missing is a button. I don't have the perfect button, so I have to go shopping. A real bummer. Jeg har kommet godt i siget med brødbakingen. Nybakt brød er godt, og det går unna.

I'm on a roll. Made some more bread. Freshly baked bread is delicious and we're eating a lot of bread these days.
My daughter wanted almost everything in the book Kæk og klassisk børnestrikk by Samsøe. It's very funny but I know my limits and take it one project at the time. Well, approxiomately one project at the time. I was planning to start on a dress knitted in Alfa, but I found out that was a great project to take with me on the knitting trip to Tananger. I ended up knitting on a top knitted in silk-tweed from Drops. It's an uneven and hard yarn to knit with. The threads separetes all the time, but of some weird reason it's still a quick knit. My daughter wanted me to knit a skirt from the book in the same yarn. We'll see, but I agree that would make a nice set.

Well, well, one knitting mistake and yet another one. I've finished some WIPs and have just finished my jacket from Drops in silkalpaca. It's too tight! Or it fits excactly if I hold my breath. I casted on fewer stitches than the pattern said, because I thought it was a bit too big. Now that I'm finished and study the picture closer, I can see it is supposed to be loose fit before the waist. I just want to start on another jacket for myself right away. Where is the yarn store? But I strain myself and instead I'll make a mental note to knit one during the autumn. It was a fast knit and the yarn was easy to knit. At least that makes it easier to think about making another one.

I just wonder how it is possible to be as clumsy as me? Just look at what I have managed to do. I have knitted the back part for Feminim rib from Kæk og klassisk børnestrik in two different types of cotton yarn, and it shows. How it shows! And I'll tell you can feel the difference even more than it shows. This top was supposed to be to a girl I've tried to knit to earlier. Yes, it's the same recepant as of the other four tries on tops I've had this spring and summer. This is my fourth try. It's really not the meaning this girl shall receive a knitted top from me.
Well, I'm not one who gives up, but I just had to knit in a different yarn than the red cotton yarn. Couldn't frog it at once. So now I knit the same top, but in alpaca yarn to another girl.
My parents in law came home from the USA today, and that was a comfort after my miserable try to knit a top yesterday. I had ordered a packet from Knit Pics and they brought it back home. The books have so many great patterns that I'm tempted to knit something for myself instead of the girlie top. But I will not fall into temptation, I will not, I will not ...

I had also ordered some few skeins of yarn. Yes, I know I'm not supposed to buy yarn before I travel on a SnB meeting in Tananger, but how often does one get a chance to order some Knit Pics yarn? Ok, I might get that oppertunity more often now, but still. I think I was a good girl, cause I ordered only four skeins. And yes, I had to think about overweight at the plane since it was my parents in law who had to pack it and bring it back to Norway. The yarn is so soft and delicious, and during the autumn I'll find a perfect pattern for it.
And last, the things I meant to order from Knit Pics, needles, the best needles ever. My mother in law wondered how needles could weigh so much, but then she saw the books and the yarn. Well, well, I got a great package from the USA, so then I continue knitting on the Feminin Rib, while I gaze at the things I want to knit after the top.

Pilespids for my daughter is also done. My daughter thought it was so great she wanted another one. Well, we have to think about that. I'm starting a dress for my daughter from the same book, and then my son have to get something soon as well.
I have received another great gift from my Secret Pal 12, who's not that secret anymore though. She's really good finding the perfect gift. She has sown a pretty book bag for me, and that's perfect for me, because I am really kind of weird when it comes to books. I can't stand folds or anything in the books, so this bag is so perfect when I take book with me somewhere. She bought me a book, The Tortilla Curtain of T. Coraghessan Boyle, and I really look forward to read it. I got a bookmark as well, a magnetic one and it is so great. And in the new book bag she sent candy, sorry the candy is not in the picture, but my daughter opened my present and it's gone. But I can tell you that it was good.
