Hittil har jeg foreløpig kun strikket et par sokker til sønnen, som han skal ha med seg på leirskole. De er strikket i Opal på pinne 2,5 mm. Blå de også! Blå er tydeligvis en farge jeg liker.

I haven't flashed the stash from Rhinebeck. A bit because some of it was gifts, a bit because it's really hard to take decent photos in daylight after we turned the clock to wintertime. And a wee bit because I might be a bit slow. I bought a little bit of yarn. Ok, a little bit depends on your definition. If you think about how much yarn they actually sell in Knitty City, Purl Soho, Brooklyn General Store and all the vendors at Indie Untangled, Needles Up and at Rhinebeck, I bought just a little bit of yarn. If you think about how much space the yarn I bought took up in both my suitcases on my way home, a little bit yarn might not be the words your looking for. Some of the yarn I bought, I bought from Miss Babs. I heard about the yarn before I left home, and at Knitty City somebody said "the big crazy crowd is at Miss Babs early Saturday morning." Queueing to get into the festival Saturday morning a nice lady could tell me that Miss Babs had the biggest queue. They were right. Saturday I was able to just touch the yarn a little bit, since there were so many people at her store. Sunday I felt lucky. When I was there, there weren't too many people. I was able to walk a bit around, touch the yarn, and even find matching colors and to think about projects I could use the yarn for. And of course, some of the skeins just screamed at me to take them home. I even thought I was lucky to be at her store excactly at a time when only a few thought the same. Well, that thought disappeared quickly. I had my arms full of lovely yarn and had to find the checkout, when I discovered the queue outside. It stretched about 50-70 meters ... But what can you do when you have your arms full of lovely yarn? I mean, when the yarn has found its way from the shelf to my arms, the yarn is actually mine, so then I have no other choice than to queue. And what is the fuzz about with Miss Babs' yarn? Oh, the lovely colours, the softness and squishiness and the fantastic colour combinations, and I found a huge skein which is big enough to knit myself a jacket or a sweater. I haven't gotten around to knit with her yarn yet, but if it is as lovely to knit with as it is to touch, I can understand the fuzz.
So far in November, I've only knitted a pair of simple vanilla socks for my son. He's off at a camp soon, so he needs warm socks. They are knitted using Opal on needles 2,5 mm. They're blue as well. I guess I like blue.
