About three years ago I travelled to Rhinebeck Wool & Sheep Festival. On the plane to New York I cast on the Dip Dye-sweater from G;uld. I knitted pretty far. It's a long flight after all. This week I dug out the sweater again. No, I never finished it. I only knitted on the sweater on the flight to New York. The body was almost done. I took a look at the sweater and concluded I still like the Dip Dye sweater. It's also a possibility the project shrunk a bit in the knitting bag during these years. It looked a bit tight. I wondered about whether to finish it or to frog it. I have a daughter and it would absolutely fit her. Doubtful if she actually would wear something I like though. Teenagers! Then Skeindeer Knits sent med a DM. Could I test knit a vest for her? Of course. More tempting to cast on a new project than continue on a sweater too tight to fit anyway. Nevermind daughter! She has enough sweaters. A quick look at the pattern revealed the yarn in my sweater was perfect for the vest. And it didn't stop with that, but the number of contrast colors was a perfect match too. The only thing was that Dip Dye sweater is more a faded colors and in a fair isle vest you would want real contrasts. But I dug out a skein of green. I used the rest of the day to frog the sweater and cast on a new vest. But I got rid of a three year old UFO. Hurray and applause for me! Yes, I have a new WIP, but I intend to finish it. Still applause to me!
