I'll Be Back Someday

Jeg kommer liksom alltid tilbake til London. Har ikke peiling på hvor mange ganger jeg har vært der. Det var en periode hvor jeg dro to-tre ganger i året. Den tiden hvor LP'r og bøker måtte importeres om man ville ha dem i løpet av året det ble utgitt. Noe kom liksom ikke til Norge. En tid hvor kofferten ble fylt opp av bøker, LP'r og sko i riktig størrelse. Det er fortsatt ikke så enkelt å få sko i str. 35-36. Enklere, men ikke alltid like stort utvalg. Nå stikker jeg en tur igjen. Til favorittbyen. Til yrende liv. Shopping. Rolige stunder med bok på café og strikketøy. Garnshopping. Det har blitt mer gapnshopping enn LP-shopping i det siste. Bokshoppingen henger fortsatt i. Spørsmålet som alltid før en reise: Hvor mange bøker skal jeg ta med? Hvor mye garn skal jeg ha med? Klær? Eh? Det ordner seg jo, og det er det kjappeste å pakke. Jeg har endt opp med å pakke med meg en genser jeg har kommet godt over halvveis på bolen. Egentlig burde jeg bare ta med ermene, men endte opp med hele. I tillegg fant jeg fram en haug med restegarn fra lageret til en ny Vertice Unite. Tror det holder. Tross alt bare fire dager. Jeg skal tross alt noe annet enn å strikke. Av bøker? Jeg tok med en liste over bøker jeg har lyst på, og en bok. Også har jeg en god del e-bøker i reserve. Har både Scribd og ebokbib. Skal nok klare meg. Strikking og lesing på tur er alltid bra.

I'll always seem to come back to London. I have no idea how many times I've been there. A period of time I flew to London about two-three times a year. A period where the LPs and books had to be imported to Norway if you wanted them within a year after they'd been published. A period where my suitcase filled up with books, LPs and shoes in the right size. It's still not easy to buy shoes in the right size, 35-36. Easier, but not always a big selection to choose from. I'm heading over to London again. My favorite city. People everywhere. Shopping. Relaxing with a book and knitting at a café. It's been more yarn shopping than LP-shopping the lately. Book shopping is still there. The questions as always before I travel: How many books should I bring? How much yarn should I pack? Clothes? What? No problem with clothes, it's the easiest and fastest to pack. I ended up packing a sweater I've already knitted more than half of the body of. I should have packed only the sleeves, but I ended up packing the whole sweater. I also dug out some yarn from my stash to knit a Vertices Unite, since I frogged my last attempt. I think it's enough. It's only four days after all. I'm going to do a lot of other things than knit. Books? I ended up packing a long list of books I want to buy, and only one paper book. But I have a lot of e-books on my phone. I have Scribd and the library app. Knitting and reading while traveling is always great.
