For ei dame!

Totally non-knitting related; but did you watch Lizzo's performance at the VMAs yesterday? If not, go watch it at MTV's channel. What a lady!
Ok, back to knitting. My knitting mojo has really hit med these days. And the weather has nothing to do with it, especially since it's actually summer temperatures outside. Not that I'm complaining, since I love summer and sun. But back to knitting, on Saturday I started on a Lovely Leaf Shawl. And since I apparently have no life, I manage to knit more than half on Saturday. The competitive part of me just woke up, and I couldn't go to bed on Sunday until I finished the shawl. A shawl in two days. I just miss blocking it and take some photos. Not that I think I'm going to repeat this.
I actually knit a No Frills-sweater kind of sweaeter in yarn from G:uld and Tulliball, but it's my own version. Truthfully just a simple sweater with a raglan knitted in one strand of pure wool from G:uld and one strand of mohair from Tulliball. To knit with mohair slows down my knitting speed. So no Cumulus blouse here in the nearest future. This sweater has taken me about a week to reach the part where I divide for sleeves and body. Ok, knitting a Lovely Leaf Shawl and Vertices Unite of course doesn't help, but it is slower to knit with mohair than wool. The result seems soft and nice, so I want to finish it. And I love the colors.
And yesterday I manage to have a nice knit night downtown, and still get to knit at Strikkezilla's garden knit later the same evening. Not too bad for one evening.

Everytime
Vertice Unite nummer to er underveis.

It happens every year. Autumn, Fall, suddenly, like out of the blue, from one day to another, and it's fall. And I'm never ready for it. And technically it's not fall until September, but in the middle of August it's always this change of air. It changes from mild to fresh, and you just know even though the sun is going to shine again, it isn't going to be as hot again. I'm always more tired, more lazy, do a bit less, sit more in the sofa and a bit darker mood when fall sets in. I light candles, enjoy a nice cup of tea and binge watch tv-series, read good books, knit with some beautiful yarn and light the fire, but summer is really my season. I'm going to try my best this fall too, though. Vertice Unite number one is done, but I need to block it and take some photos. Vertice Unite number two is on the way. But it's just not a good movie theater knit. It's an easy knit, but not a knit in the dark one. You can't really pick up stitches in the dark. My other projects all need me to look at the pattern regularly. I had to find something else to knit. After a trip to my yarn stash I found some lovely yarn from G;uld and some mohair from Tulliball. I think the color combo is lovely. I'm going to knit a sweater similar to the No Frills sweater, but since that is just a simple sweater in stockinette stitch with raglan, I'm not buying the pattern but knitting it from what fits me. I managed to knit a bit at the movie theater and get a good start. I'm still going to continue Free the Needles project, but I just needed a project I could bring with me as well.

Don't Judge Me
Latskapen lenge leve.

I always seem to knit faster when the amount of yarn decreases. It doesn't help, but mentally it helps a bit. This time I ran out of yarn. Either I knit too slow, or I just completely missed when I calculated the amount of yarn. Either way, I ran out of one of the colors. Just at the end of the first part of Vertices Unite by Stephen West. And I planned on knitting the shawl with scrap yarn. Should I wait to knit on until I had time to get into a store and buy one more skein? Should I frog everything and start over with different colors? I admit I'm a bit lazy, so I figured I just keep on knitting in the one color I still had more yarn from. How visible can it be? Well, quite visible actually, but Vertices Unite is put together of different parts anyway, and I think I just keep on knitting and see how the project turns out. I think it will be fine. Laziness wins.

The Afterlife

Back home again after a trip with a lot of yarn content. I visited some yarn stores, but I think I did really good. I ended up with a few skeins to me, and some skeins from Jamieson I bought for a friend. What I'm going to make? No, isn't that the charm about holidays and buying souvenir skeins? I have picked up my WIPs again, and I have a plan to finish about three-four of them during August and maybe frog a couple. On my way to get control of my WIPs. But as usual the project Free The Needles makes me want to cast on at least double as many projects I finish. I haven't done it. I admit I found yarn for four new projects in my stash, but I am going to finish some more projects before I cast on those. I joined Stashdash this year too, but since I used June and most of July to test knit with yarn not from my stash, I'm far from my goal at 15K. Anyhow I'm just going to see how close I can get, and my main goal is to tidy up my project pile.

Beautiful People

Nobody can tell me knitting hasn’t made me discover places I probably wouldn’t have seen if it wasn’t for knitting. Today Tribe yarn store was the goal. It’s in Richmond, and what a cozy place. Much like a small British village. And the yarn store full of goodies. I wandered around in Richmond and had lunch at a charming bakery. And in the evening I went to knit night. Some very nice knitters and Skeindeer who told me about the knit night, of course. I’ve had London as my favorite town for a long time, and it still is after this trip. I have to come back soon.
