For et salgstelt!

Knitting festiva at Fanø - a fall temptation. I was a bit afraid I wasn't going to be able to get there, since the storm Knud decided to show some strength that day, but luckily I saw little to Knud where I was. A bit of extra wind, but not enough to stop the plain or the knitting festival. I heard about some water the day before we went to the market tent. And what a market tent! So many temptation! Did I feel the pressure to buy yarn? Yes, and of course I didn't resist. Wollmeise, Hedgehog Fibres, G:uld, Madelinetosh was among the yarn you could buy. And buy, yes, I did. And Fanø is an incredible beautiful place with a lot of small, cosy houses as well.
And what else could you do when you are at a knitting festival except buy yarn and knit? I knitted some socks. A pair for the second round in Sokkedille2018, the knit along and a pair knitted as an order. The pattern for the pair in the knit along is Rabalder. The second pair is plain vanilla socks.

Normal
Back to normal again.

Back to normal! I want to cast on everything, all the projects. I have way too many projects on the needles. I have too little time to actually knit everything I want to knit. Back to normal! I signed up as a test knitter for Bluebell Sweater designed by The Munro Sisters. The sweater was a really fast knit, and I got to use some of my yarn from my stash. It gives me such a pleasure to use yarn from my stash. Not that it was that much, but small steps. The yarn is Geilsk thin wool, and I really have no idea when I bought it, but it is a while. The white is Knit Picks Palette and I had it in my stash for half an eternity. Took a trip to Frognerparken with Monstermønster today to take some photos of knitwear again. A bit chilly today, even though the trees didn't have the fall colors yet. And since I have decided to finish up WIPs, I cast on a new project of course.

Nonstop
Erme nummer to ble ferdig omtrent fem minutter før Books of Mormons.

Some days are just better than others. And when I say better, I mean more time to knit. Yesterday I started my work day with a big meeting with more people than I expected it to be. It was totally legit to knit. The meeting lasted more than half of my working da. So my mood was pretty good from the start yesterday. When they served me Cola and chocolate, I thought the day couldn't get much better. At the end of the day I had another meeting where I could knit. Such a great working day. And the day wasn't over at all. After work I knit at a restaurant, outside downtown, at a bar and at the end at a theater. And wow, what a musical! I'm probably real late to join the party of people who have seen Books of Mormons, but I'm impressed. So much fun! And yes, I knitted while I watched. Sleeve number two was done about five minutes before Books of Mormons. Two sleeves on a day, that's what I call a good day.
And btw, I have test knitted a hat. So many designers have their own hat pattern right now, but this hat I really felt the pattern made sense and is advanced enough so you actually need a pattern. The pattern is called Letizia and I bet it's out soon at Ravelry. I knitted my hat in yarn from stash. The black is alpaca from Drops, and the pink is alpaca from Du Store Alpakka.

Harvest Love

It rains, and rains. Not that it matters too much. I just spent a whole Saturday at home. Tidying a bit, washing a bit, but a lot of time spent in my couch with my knitting, a book, music or a podcast. I don't enjoy fall too much, but I have to admit, days like that are nice. Ok, I could have done almost the same at a beach and probably been a lot happier, but hey, I live in Norway and have to face the seasons. Remind me I said that when winter comes and I complain about it. Fall is also darker evenings, and I have just lit some candles. Ok, I lit the candles since my living room lights don't work and I have to wait until the weekend to get it fixed. But candlelight is nice though. And a perfect excuse to not read my curriculum today. I'm just going to enjoy the candles and some knitting tonight.
I have joined a knit along. I do that sometimes. This one is on Facebook and is called Sokkedille2018, socks. I'm not really sure about all the rules, but we have to buy a sock pattern and knit the socks during a 10-14 day period. The first pair was called Trippel and I used only yarn from my stash, which makes me so happy right now. Mostly because I know I'm going to buy yarn next week. The orange is a sock blank from Denmark, the grey and black is Cascade Heritage. And the socks fit me perfect, so a size 36.
And I have to add some photos from a really great evening at the store Værbitt in Oslo. Kristy Glass, check out her podcast on YouTube and find her on Instagram, was there. It was such a pleasure to meet her again. And she remembered us from Rhinebeck, which makes me so happy. We took a group photo in Rhinebeck 2017, and recreated the photo now in Oslo 2018, and I cross my fingers we can do the same in Edinburgh 2019. That would be so much fun!

Party's Over
(Party's Over - Astrid S)
Well, you can say that. The sumemr is over, and the normal life and weekdays are back. It is noticeable both on my energy level and the weather. Both is a grey area right now. But I guess I'll manage to produce something in the fall weather too. This summer I finished my Threipmuir designed by Ysolda Teague. I cast on during winter some time, but after I finished the pattern on the yoke, I thought the sweater would turn out too big. I put the sweater aside, since I didn't feel like knitting something too big. I was about to frog it this summer, but decided to try it on before frogging. Good thing, since the sweater fitted. So I finished it instead of frogging. The yarn is Højlandsuld from Garnudsalg, and a very lovely yarn to knit with. The sweater only weighs 214 g and even though I don't look forward to colder weather, I have to say a benefit with colder weather is to get to wear a new sweater.
So while the rain is pouring down today, I'm going to slowly dig deeper in my project basket with a big pile of WIPs. I might even manage to tidy up the knitting basket before the year is over? And by tidying up, I mean finish or frog the numerous projects in there.
